A typical day in the Toddler Community.

Greeted individually as families arrive. Children settle into the space at their own pace.
- 028:00–10:00Work cycle
Uninterrupted concentration — children choose their work, follow their interests, develop coordination and independence.
- 0310:45–11:45Outdoor play
Walking on Capitol Hill, the shaded yard, or sensorial play outside.
- 0412:00–12:30Family-style lunch
Children help set, serve, and clean — practical life as community.
- 0512:30–2:45Rest & quiet activities
Naps for those who need them; quiet activities for those who don't.
- 063:00Departure
Pickup for school-day families. Extended-care families continue with afternoon activities until 4:30 or 5:00 PM.
