This policy explains what information Starling Montessori School (\"Starling,\" \"we,\" \"our\") collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to be transparent: we collect only what we need to serve families well, and we never sell personal information.
Information you give us
When you book a tour, send a contact message, or apply for a position, we receive what you choose to share — typically your name, email, phone number, your child's age or program of interest, and any notes you add. We use this to respond personally and to schedule your visit.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, we receive standard information your browser sends — pages viewed, approximate location, device type, referring source. We use a small set of analytics tools to understand how the site works for families:
- Google Analytics (GA4) — aggregated traffic data; helps us see which pages are useful.
- Microsoft Clarity — heatmaps and session recordings (cursor movement, scroll, clicks). Form fields and any text you type are automatically masked.
These analytics tools are active by default so we can keep improving the site. You may opt out at any time using the \"Cookie preferences\" link in the footer; once you opt out, both tools fall back to a privacy-preserving mode that collects no identifying information.
Cookies

Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers we use to operate the school:
- Calendly — to schedule your tour.
- Resend — to deliver tour-request emails to our team.
- Brightwheel — for enrollment applications, if you choose to apply.
- Google and Microsoft — for the analytics described above.
Each provider is bound by their own privacy commitments. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. If you believe we have received information from a child without parental involvement, please contact us at info@starlingmontessorischool.com and we will remove it.
Your choices and rights
You can request a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Send your request to info@starlingmontessorischool.com and we will respond within thirty days.
International visitors
Starling is based in Washington, D.C., and our service providers may process data in the United States. If you visit from elsewhere — including the European Union — your information may be transferred to and stored in the U.S. By using the site, you understand this transfer.
