Base on our licensing requirements we can admit children who are 16 months as long as they are "independently ambulatory" this means they need to have sufficient walking mobility at 16 months to qualify. This is essentially a safety requirement as our space is not designed for non-ambulatory children.
For children who are not independently walking by 16 months, we may ask to do an in-person child visit to observe the child's mobility in advance of their start date. If it is clear they are unable to move independently and safely through the environment at the level required for their start, we will push back the child's start date to allow them time to acquire the required mobility skills.
